Publication of report for UK Government on effects of manufacturing and supply chain trends on UK freight

Between 2017 and 2019, the UK Government Office for Science (GO-Science) conducted a study of the Future of Mobility up to 2040.   This was a wide-ranging study examining personal and freight movement over different geographical scales and taking both demand and supply perspectives.   It examined ‘new opportunities and the implications of current trends’ and built ‘four plausible future worlds to help decision makers think about the future’.   Go-Science commissioned several reports from external researchers on specific topics.  I contributed to one of these reports written mainly by Professor John Mangan of the University of Newcastle upon Tyne.

A copy of our report can be downloaded here

Details of the main study and a copy of its final report can be found at this government website.
